Zimi nam je najbitnije da je toplo pa često ne pazimo na stil kaputa, odnosno izgled nam je na drugom mjestu. Nešto manje topli, ali elegantniji i prigodniji za neke poslovne ili formalnije prigode, su klasični zimski kaputi debljeg mekanog materijala. Najčešće imaju velik ovratnik i remen oko struka te kopčanje na gumbe, u jednom ili dva reda. Takav klasičan kroj je najpoznatiji, ali postoje i brojni drugi modeli, s visokim ovratnicima, zvonolikim rukavima, volanima, dodacima od krzna i slično. Ovaj tip kaputa izgleda ženstvenije i elegantnije i savršen je za odlazak na posao, poslovne sastanke i razne posebnije večernje prigode, ali kad temperature padnu duboko ispod nule ništa se ne može mjeriti s dobrim, debelim, punjenim, dugačkim zimskim kaputom.
